I am Dana Gont, a journalist with extensive television experience, a content creator, and a communications professional. I have worked in television for over 20 years, having collaborated with Romania’s major national TV networks. Although it is nice to be known as a television presenter, my work has always been more complex behind the camera. About me
My experience combines over 20 years of TV journalism, 10 years of online storytelling, and 4 years of communications management in the NGO sector. I bring the rigour of a television producer, the empathy required when communicating social causes, and the energy of social media. It may sound like a lot to juggle, but they all share a common thread: curiosity, clarity, and a passion for sharing the stories that inspire me. A community of over 100,000 people follows me across social channels for my discoveries in travel, culture, and savoir-vivre.
What do I do?
1. Social media and storytelling
I create compelling travel stories for my blog, as a contributor to Casa Lux Magazine, and for my social media channels. My expertise as a TV journalist helps me to “translate” dense information about a destination into engaging, easy-to-understand short-form videos.

2. Travel and gastronomy content
My love of travel and gastronomy finds expression in various online projects focused on tourism promotion and gastronomic education, such as the Ghid de bun-gust (A Guide to Good Taste) series.
Over the past 10 years, I have collaborated as a travel influencer and journalist with both private businesses and official tourism boards from countries including Greece, France, Austria, Moldova, Slovakia, and Jordan. I occasionally organise events or small-group trips (in partnership with a boutique agency) to off-the-beaten-path destinations.
3. Video and media production
With thousands of TV reports and interviews to my name (B1 TV, Prima TV, Digi24, and ProTV), as well as hundreds of Reels, I have broad expertise in video content. I handle the full workflow — research, scripting, interviews, and direction — for news reports, event coverage, or educational formats. For more complex projects, I collaborate with professionals specialising in cinematography and video editing.

4. Event hosting and moderation
Beyond my experience as a television presenter, I work as a presenter and moderator for conferences, galas, and corporate events.
I have hosted the Destinația Anului în România (Destination of the Year in Romania) Gala for several consecutive years, the tourism marketing conference Destinații Vizionare (Visionary Destinations), as well as the Pact Gala, the Globue Gala, the Slow Food Romania Conference (2024), the EFIRO Gala (2024), the panel discussions at the Romanian Tourism Fair (February 2025), and many other events.
5. Speaker for tourism and content events
Following my TEDx Cluj talk in 2018, I have frequently been invited as a speaker at conferences and events.
I choose to participate in those where I truly have something relevant to share, particularly in the fields of tourism and destination promotion. I speak passionately about online ethics, the role of stories in tourism communication, how to build authentic content, and the relationship between journalism, social media, and the tourism industry.
I believe in the power of stories to bring a touch of goodness and beauty, and in people uniting around shared values. I am open to one-off or long-term collaborations (on a freelance basis) for projects that require journalistic rigour, ethics, and creativity.
